Moop is a small company that handcrafts bags in their studio in Pittsburg. Their Letter Carrier bag, featured here, is built from durable waxed canvas and lined in cordura. Waxed canvas is naturally water repellent and ages like leather.
Ernest Alexander, based in New York City, specializes in handcrafted luggage and accessories for men. His luggage designs include details like signature wax cottons, contrasting linings, double stitching and zipper pulls. They are committed to ethical manufacturing practices, and produce all of their products in the U.S.
Makr is a leather goods company based in Florida. Most of Makr’s small goods are handsewn in their studio, and all their other goods are made locally in Florida. Makr also sources all of their materials from American suppliers — most of their leather is supplied by Harween in Chicago. Wood is sourced locally, from fallen trees whenever possible.
Artifact Bags are made in Omaha, Nebraska by one man, Chris Brown. He uses a combination of hand tools and vintage industrial equipment to craft his creation. For materials, me Brown makes use of American sourced waxed canvas and leather, and offers a lifetime guarantee for all his products
Pelican Cases are perhaps the most durable cases available — they are certainly constructed to last a lifetime. The Pelican Products company was started in Torrance, California in 1975 by Dave Parker, a scuba diver, and Pelican Cases are still manufactured in Torrance.
This Slim Portfolio Briefcase from J. W. Hulme is handmade in St Paul, Minnesota. It is constructed with “analine finished deep burgundy” leather and brass hardware.
RedOxx, a company based in Billings, Montana, specializes in constructing very practical and durable luggage. The company was founded by two former military parachute riggers. Their bags are built with tough canvas (1,000-denier Cordura), huge zippers and strong handles.
